Michael Chekhov

In the older class we looked at the work of Michael Chekhov and Francois Delsarte. We did various exercises where the pupils imagined their core energy being made of something else such as ice or honey and looked at how that impacted their performance. I then set the pupils the challenge of choosing their own inner core for their monologues while the rest of us had to guess what kind of substance it was. It's quite an 'out there' exercise, but one that can work really successfully and it was great to see the pupils rise to the challenge! You can check out my presentation on Chekhov and Delsarte below.
